WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — Voters in five Wausau wards will have a primary election on February 17th.
That includes a primary in the 6th Alder district between Keene Winters, Mario Diaz, and Kristin Slonski. Voters in Wards 15 and 16 will select one candidate, with the top two advancing to the April 7th ballot.
The other primary is in Wards 3, 5, and 7. Those areas are in the D.C. Everest School District, where five candidates are vying for two open seats. Voters will select two candidates, with the top four advancing to April 7th:
- Yee Leng Xiong
- Bill Conway
- Jennifer Douck
- Tony Eilers
- Daron Juneau
Voters can check their registration status and request an absentee ballot by visiting www.myvote.wi.gov or by contacting the City Clerk’s office. Absentee ballots will be mailed beginning January 27th. In-person, absentee voting will be available at City Hall on the following dates:
- Tuesday, February 3 through Friday, February 6 from 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM
- Tuesday, February 9 through Friday, February 13 from 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM
- Saturday, February 14 from 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM
