I have always struggled with fitting workouts into my schedule. Between work, three kids and their never-ending activities, family life, and everything else that comes with being a busy mom, finding 30 minutes to dedicate to exercise can feel like an Olympic sport. And honestly, some days, just getting everyone where they need to be feels like enough cardio!
Getting healthier has been a goal of mine, which is one of the reasons I started working with Elevé Vitality & Aesthetics and their Vitality Program. One of the biggest blessings of this experience has been working with people who genuinely take the time to understand me—my lifestyle, my struggles, and my goals.
You know how sometimes you go to a doctor, explain what’s going on, and get a response along the lines of, “This is what you need to do. Good luck figuring out how to make it happen!”? Okay, maybe they don’t say it quite like that, but it can certainly feel that way.
That’s what has made working with Katrina, my Elevé health coach, so different. She understands that I have a busy life and that simply telling me to squeeze in a 30-minute workout isn’t necessarily going to make it happen. Instead of making me feel like I was failing, she worked with me to find realistic ways to incorporate more movement into my day.
And let me tell you, that was a work in progress!
I continued to struggle with making time for exercise, and the more I struggled, the more stressed I became about not doing what I knew I should be doing. It felt like one more thing I wasn’t checking off my already ridiculously long to-do list.
But Katrina didn’t give up on me. Instead, as we continued working together, she introduced me to something called “workout snacks.”
No, these aren’t snacks you eat after a workout. Although, I would absolutely support that idea, too!
Workout snacks are short bursts of movement sprinkled throughout your day instead of trying to carve out a big chunk of time for exercise. And suddenly, this felt much more doable!
I can do squats while brushing my teeth, desk push-ups while waiting for my board packets to print at work, and leg lifts while styling my hair. I’ve even thrown in side lunges while chatting with my best friend. Thankfully, she’s used to my shenanigans!
I’ve also started making a conscious effort to get up and walk over to talk to someone rather than sending an email. It’s a small change, but it gets me moving instead of spending even more time sitting at my desk.
Are these little bursts of movement going to turn me into a fitness influencer overnight? Probably not. But that’s not the point!
The point is that I’m finding ways to make healthier choices that work for my life. I’m learning that getting healthier doesn’t have to mean completely overhauling my schedule or feeling guilty when I can’t fit in a traditional workout. Sometimes, it means starting small, making little changes, and building habits that I can actually stick with.
That’s one of the things I appreciate most about the Elevé Vitality Program. It’s not just about telling you what you should do to improve your health. It’s about working together to figure out how to make those changes happen in real life. The program has helped me look at my health and wellness differently, and having someone in my corner who understands my challenges makes such a difference.
When you’re working with people who genuinely listen, understand what you’re going through, and help you find solutions instead of simply handing you a list of things to fix, you feel important. You feel supported. Most importantly, you feel seen.
And that matters!
I enjoy working with the Elevé team so much, and I can’t recommend the Vitality Program enough. If you’ve been wanting to get healthier but feel overwhelmed by where to start—or how to fit it all into your already busy life—know that you don’t necessarily have to change everything overnight.
Sometimes, getting healthier starts with a few squats while brushing your teeth.
