Milwaukee Brewers
ST. PETERSBURG, FL (WSAU) – The Milwaukee Brewers have won their first World Series.
The Brewers beat the Tampa Bay Rays, 4-1 on Wednesday night to take the series 4 games to 1.
Jacob Misorowski worked 5 2/3 innings of shutout ball, allowing only 1 hit. Brewers catcher, and World Series MVP William Contreras added an RBI. Rookie Cooper Pratt has 6 consecutive hits before a sacrifice fly. “This is one of the greatest moments of my life. Oh my gosh. It doesn’t even feel real,” said Pratt, who made his major league debut in June. “This is surreal. It only took four months!”
“It’s the best feeling ever. All of our fans are here. I know the city’s waited a long, long time for this,” said captain Christian Yelich. “We’re so happy to bring it home to them.”
“This group of guys right here, the 2026 team, will be remembered forever – and they deserve that because they were a team,” manager Pat Murphy said.
The Brewers led the regular season with 103 wins, and won 11 out of 12 games in the post season.
Plans for a victory parade in Wisconsin will be finalized on Thursday.
