Wausau, WI (WSAU) — Scam calls have been going around the city of Wausau. Said Scam callers have been pretending to be the “Attorney’s Office of Michael Rivers,” and requesting money.
The scammer would claim that a relative of the victim has been involved in a crash, taken into custody, and requests payment to secure their release. The police department would never request direct payments to release someone like this.
The Wausau Police Department encourages those who receive this call to report it to them immediately.
