Christopher Bauer
WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — A Milwaukee-area man is accused of falling into a trap set by officers in Central Wisconsin.
Police say Christopher Bauer traveled from his home in West Bend to meet an officer posing as a 15-year-old girl on Kik. Bauer’s plans reportedly included having sex with the girl and taking drugs.
The two exchanged messages through the app, including explicit photos, before agreeing to meet in Wausau.
Officers arrested the 46-year-old on November 5th. An investigation turned up drugs, including mushrooms and LSD, in his vehicle. They also found the explicit messages on his phone.
Bauer is being held in the Marathon County jail on a $15,000 cash bond with further court hearings scheduled for November 12th and 17th. Charges against him include using a computer to facilitate a child sex crime, attempted sexual assault of a child, child enticement involving drugs, and possession of narcotics with the intent to distribute. He also faces misdemeanor counts for possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia.
Combined, he faces more than 100 years in prison, including 40 years each for the two most serious offenses.
