Wisconsin Badgers
MADISON, WI (WSAU) — Both the Wisconsin mens and womens basketball teams came up short on Sunday. The men dropping a 73-71 decision with USC at the Kohl Center and the women losing at Minnesota 88-53.
The Badgers were only 34% from the field and 24% from three-point range and coughed up a twelve point lead in the final twelve minutes of the game.
Nick Boyd led Wisconsin with 29 points on 10-17 shooting but everybody else struggled to make shots. Nolan Winter had 12 and John Blackwell had 11 but was just 3-13 with five turnovers.
The Badgers are now 14-6 overall and 6-3 in the Big Ten. They host Minnesota on Wednesday.
The Badger women shot just 27% in the first quarter and were down by twelve. They never caught up and shot just 34% for the game.
Destiny Howell had 16 points and Kyrah Daniels added 13.
Wisconsin falls to 13-8 overall and 5-5 in the Big Ten. They travel to Ohio State on Thursday.
