This week’s experiment came courtesy of my former co-worker, Nikki Montgomery, who texted me over the weekend insisting that I try pairing fresh cucumbers with white sugar.
According to the viral internet trend, sprinkling white sugar onto a fresh cucumber slice is supposed to completely trick your tastebuds into thinking you’re eating a juicy piece of watermelon. Sounds harmless enough, right? There’s just one glaring problem: I absolutely hate cucumbers, and I really don’t care for watermelon either! You can catch the full playback above.
